Outings policy

This is our policy to keep children safe when they are in our care

  1. We will ensure that both of us are present on any outing if the children are more than six in number
  2. We carry out a full risk assessment of the proposed outing before the outing
  3. We will obtain written parental permission for children to take part in regular, local outings whilst in our care and specific written permission for a longer or more involved outing
  4. We will take essential records and equipment for each child on outings as necessary, including contact telephone numbers for parents, a first-aid kit and a mobile telephone
  5. We will keep records for parental inspection of any vehicles in which children are transported, including insurance details and a list of named drivers
  6. We will ensure that any driver transporting children in their own vehicle has adequate insurance cover
  7. We will adhere to our lost child procedures given in our lost child policy
